Community, Culture and Food
We are more than a delivery service. We connect community through culture and food. Back in 2019, I set up Ordrs, having noticed the rapid growth in on-demand delivery and really wanted to challenge the space – adding a heart to a very transactional and unethical industry (foiled with underpaid employees, intentions to put local stores out of business and the list goes on). After more than four years of operation – we are still on the journey and are energised more than ever to implement the founding vision of what we do. We currently work with a range of local grocers – which include cultural shops, greengrocers, halal butchers and more, providing a carbon-free same-day delivery platform. Our service is affordable for local store owners and customers (only £2.49 delivery fee). We have been enjoying our time so far in Lambeth, having launched only in September 2023. Check out snippets from our launch below!
Our service is backed by Guy’s and St Thomas’ Trust – we are working with them to reinvigorate the health and wellness throughout the whole Lambeth borough and have already launched an exciting initiative - FREE Healthy Cultural Cooking Workshops! In these sessions, you can make new friends and learn scrumptious and cost-effective cultural dishes with a healthy twist! These sessions are run by our partners, Food for Purpose, who have over 50 years of combined experience in dietetics. Our workshops are supported by discounted meal kits on our website, enabling you to get the ingredients for the dishes you learn at a great price! You will also be seeing a healthy amount of discounts on the more nutritious options on our platform throughout the upcoming months.
Our team are pushing for even more impact in Lambeth and are building connections with the likes of the Healthy Living Platform, Max Roach Community Centre and primary schools to implement our vision of connecting the community through culture and food. Stay tuned!
